Ponganadu is a village which is being transformed into small town in southern Kerala.
The name 'Ponganadu' evolved from the ancient name, 'Por-Simha-Nadu' (The land of battling lions). This region was under a local royal family called Keezhpperoor Swaroopam.
The village of Ponganadu is located in between National Highway 47 (India) and State Highway 1 (Kerala). The distance between these highways and Ponganadu is about 5 km. The road connecting the important commercial towns of Kilimanoor and Parippally goes through this village.

You can see the sweet chorus of various natural sounds from birds, cicada, frogs & many other living forms. And if you listen very carefully, you can hear a sound of recital of hindu sacred scripture from a distant temple.
